Voodoo Lounge – Kansas City, MO 11.01.07 $14.99 Gov’t Mule Voodoo Lounge Kansas City, MO 11.01.07 The first of November brought Mule to the Voodoo Lounge in Kansas City with a walloping first set in hand. Starting with Hammer & Nails, Monkey Hill then blazed in between the opener and Thorazine Shuffle. Fool’s Moon led the mid-set charge with Streamline Woman and Endless Parade following. After an exceptional Bad Little Doggie and a Mr. High & Mighty for the books, Grace Potter joined in for a first time ever rendition of Angel Band that led into a transcendent cover of Gold Dust Woman to end the set. Banks Of The Deep End kicked off round two and was followed by the familiar pairing of Love Me Do within I’m A Ram. Armed with his trusty trumpet, Danny led the way through Unblow Your Horn that featured the crowd as quite a vocal talent during the Get Up, Stand Up Jam that ensued. Left Coast Groovies, not heard from in a while made it’s way into Drums and out into a great Nothing Again. The one-two punch that was to knock out the set came in the form of I Believe To My Soul and Mule.
